Von Trapp brou sy eie pils danksy Bayern Brewery

7 Sensasionele Super Bowl Sunday Beer Pairings

Probeer:Bell’s Double Cream (Comstock, MI ABV: 6,1%)

Probeer:Allagash Hoppy Table Beer (Portland, ME ABV: 4.8%)

Probeer:Firestone Pivo Pils (Paso Robles, CA ABV: 5.3%)

Varke in 'n kombers

Probeer:Von Trapp Helles (Stowe, VT ABV: 4,9%)

"Von Trapp Helles is 'n bekostigbare voorbeeld van 'n uiters goed vervaardigde pils."

Nachos

Sesvoet Sub

Kombineer met:Amber Ale

'' N Gebalanseerde, maklik drinkbare bier soos amberbier is 'n veilige keuse vir 'n ou sub-sammy. ”

Probeer:Jack's Abby Red Tape (Framingham, MA ABV: 5%)

'Jack's Abby Red Tape is 'n uitstekende voorbeeld.

Hallo, biervriende. Hoe gaan dit? Is alles OK?

Grimm Super Spruce New York 4,7% ABV

Allagash Tripel Portland, ME 9% ABV

Cisco Cranberry Woods Nantucket, MA 5% ABV

As dit anders blyk, word hierdie aanbeveling volgende week in groot druk ingetrek.

Brooklyn Brown Ale New York 5,6% ABV

Von Trapp Golden Helles Lager Stowe, VT 4.9% ABV

Nagskof Pfaffenheck Everett, MA 5.2% ABV

Wicked Weed Old Fashioned Asheville, NC 10% ABV

Downeast Cranberry Cider Boston, MA 5% ABV

'N Biermaatskappy begin naby South Station

Hulle geselskap, Mighty Squirrel, maak twee soorte bier.

Hulle was so sterre-oog soos ambisieus.

Gebrou by von Trapp Brewing in Stowe, Vt., Die biere bevat onderskeidelik 4 en 5 gram proteïen.

Mighty Squirrel (ongeveer $ 10,50 vir 'n 6-pak) beskikbaar by Wine Emporium, South End, 617-262-0379, en Quality Mart, Back Bay, 617-859-1804

Oktoberfest Vermont

Prost!

Pyp Classic

Nou voeg beide Hardee's en Carl's Jr. landwyd verskeie Beyond Meat-produkte by hul spyskaart: “MARTA!” “GRETL!” “FRAULEIN!”

Alhoewel die Carl's Jr. -items vanaf vandag beskikbaar sal wees, sal Hardee's sy nuwe aanbiedings vanaf 30 Desember bekend stel.

No date was printed on the bottom of the can as that would be the only thing that I'd change about this beer. It was easy to pick out the attributes of both brewers that had a hand in making this but I expected the end result to be just a tad better. As it was, there was plenty to enjoy here as this made it worth the trip up to New City!

Out of the fridge and out of a can into an Averbode tulip. Understated CO2, very light lacing which dissipates faster than Donald Trump's tax returns. Smell is a slight tropical aroma with a hint of hoppy backfill.
Abv of 8.7 is masked very well. Has a quality spin in the glass that is just so ever looking like it has syrupy qualities.
It has a hoppy bite that seems a little metallic on the aftertaste and definitely numbed the roof of my mouth. Bitter element comes on stronger as it warms up. I would order again, but would quaff colder rather than letting it warm up. Kind of like a supercharged Pilsner.

First off this is definitely my favorite grapefruit beer of all time..Its been awhile since I've seen it on the shelves but it just showed up at my local hipster, labodega, gourmet beer store so I was enticed to pick up a can. ..

The date shows that it's only a month and a half old which is game on for an ipa, and I've had it in the past so it was like running into an old friend that your actually happy to see..

I poured this beauty into my speigelau IPA glass and got a perfect 2 finger head with a slight carmelized note and a pure strong grapefruit scent like no-other beer I've ever experienced.

Like I said before, best grapefruit beer on the market period. And at a solid 7% abv you can't go wrong. HOMERUN.

473ml can - another very artful label (duh), and I am queuing up Rammstein's 'Pussy' on my system, in honour of the prominence of the feline on the label. #noapologies

This beer pours a very cloudy, pale golden yellow colour, with two fingers of puffy, rocky, and faintly bubbly off-white head, which leaves a bit of less-than-aspirational cloud form lace around the glass as it suitably subsides.

It smells of gritty and grainy pale malt, muddled domestic citrus rind, some further guava and maybe pineapple 'exotic' fruitiness, a hint of damp minerality, and some evenly distributed earthy, leafy, and piney green hoppiness. The taste is bready and mildly doughy caramel malt, blood orange and old lemon citrus esters, rain, when it's coming through the windows, unexpectedly, and more leafy, weedy, and dank-ish piney hop bitters.

The carbonation is active in its palate-taunting frothiness, the body a solid medium weight, and mostly smooth, in the manner of those right-coast hipsters trying to right a ship that is doing just fine on its own. It finishes trending dry, my tastebuds savouring the lingering experience, as such.

Overall - well, once again, this art-focused, but actually more beer-capable outfit has surely done it again. Another IPA that is so easy to enjoy, but be aware of the extra 3 points of wowee sauce, as they come to bear. Words to the wise, which too many people seem to ignore these days.

L - Medium straw color is just a bit hazy. White head is thick and fluffy and streams of tiny bubbles are constantly rising up through the beer.

S - Light aromas blend sweet, bready malt and indistinct, earthy hops. Clean, but not the best smelling Pale Ale.

T - Light malt flavor is followed by a light lemon-like hops flavor. Again, not great for a Pale Ale.

F - Medium body and light carbonation. Low hops bitterness and no alcohol presence.

Pours cloudy orange color with a nice 1-2 finger thick creamy off-white head that faded and left decent lacing. Nothing special for an OH DIPA, which usually have good legs. Smells like flowers, apricot, fresh vegetables just pulled from the dirt, candy like Razzles or Skittles, caramel, must, herbs and sour orange juice. It smells sweet and a little off for an IPA.

The flavor is a bit strange like barnyard funk and musty grapes mixed with guava juice, orange peel, grapefruit juice and stirred with a bouquet of flowers. Like the nose I got flowers, apricot, vegetables, candy like Razzles or Skittles, caramel, herbs, sour orange juice, and then the additions of peach, graham cracker and pineapple. Lingering sour orange juice and tea leaf left a semi-dry feeling. It's all over the place.

The 8% ABV was well hidden and the mouthfeel was smooth and bordering on slick, but this was not an OH brew that got me excited to revisit it. Not bad, just not my thing.

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Very dark mahogany brown, appearing nearly opaque black in the glass with a half finger dark khaki head with great retention and nice lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, vanilla, cocoa, cinnamon, mild bourbon and a touch of oak. Flavor is dark toasted malt, vanilla, bourbon, vanilla, cocoa, a little oak and cinnamon. Lingering cinnamon, vanilla, chocolate and bourbon finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. Another big, flavorful barreled stout. This one is fairly bourbon forward, but the cocoa, vanilla and cinnamon are very well balanced and meld well. Fine Russian imperial stout base. There is an interesting interaction between these flavor adjuncts and the bourbon barrel that creates an interesting almond flavor along the edges of the tongue. Hopefully the lack of reviews of this variant is due to folks letting it sit for a bit. A little hot, this one probably could use a year of cellaring to mellow a bit, but still quite delicious. This has been a fine series of stouts. Very fine.

It’s been a very long time since I reviewed a beer online. So do appreciate the gravity of this moment. This beer reminds of when breweries actually barrel aged their beers instead of just pouring bottles of wine and whiskey in the keg. This reminds me of the best I’ve ever had, and frankly I’m not sure if this actually surpasses them. Tough call. It’s been that long. I started out drinking this 6 month old bottled aged room temperature stored 4 pack at 58 minutes of freezer cooling. At first I thought this is the best I’ve ever drank. So I calmed down knowing it would warm up and get artificially nasty. No….. it barely got hotter and the flavor expanded greater. I’ve had it all. Prairie this and beer festival aged that. No, this is extremely special. This is a beer you better search for and hog like a greedy bastard. Just as long as you share it later telling them what they are drinking. When you share greatness with a nobody, you are no longer a nobody. I’m ok with that. Better a beer snob grabs it than an asshole wannabe. I guess I’ll throw out some hippy terms. Jammy. Chewy. Delightful !

I would say CCB exceeded my expectations with this, and I'll definitely be buying it again.

Part of my haul of bottles from the Bottle Society membership of 2020. Im pouring a cellar temp 500 ml bottle into my trusty snifter. The beer has been in my cellar since I picked it up at the brewery, but was bottled on 2/4/2020.
Beer pours a dark cola brown to rich chocolate color. No light passes through the glass and a small fizzy tan head of about 1 cm foams up and fades to a sturdy surface layer quickly after the pour. Some active surface bubbles are replenishing the foam, but its only retaining the surface covering.
the aroma is some dark chocolate and a good dose of sweet bourbon and brown sugar. I also get a little bit of tobacco note and some charred wood. No hop presence and no fusol heat qualities. The nose says what this beer is, a bourbon barrel aged imperial stout.
The first sip reveals a medium to thick body with a bit of a sticky texture and very fine carbonation that only tingles when I swish the beer around in my mouth.
The beer also coats my palate with each sip and leaves a bit of sticky note on my lips.
The flavor is similar to the nose, with lots of brown sugar and dark chocolate and some bourbon notes that sweeten up my palate on each sip. The beer also does leave a little bit of warmth on the swallow that reminds me of the bigger ABV that this bottle is packing.
Another awesome barrel aged stout from one of my favorites breweries. Worth a purchase or trade for if you dig bourbon aged beers.

Celebratory beer after getting poked for the second time today (only one – the headache from the first jab almost killed me). 500ML bottle with pink lettering.

The pour is black & unusually active for a big stout that’s thick around the middle. The nose is bourbon & thick malts. Full stop.

Wake & Cake – Blanton’s is missing the BLiS experience from the other W&C I consumed recently. Still has the harsh bourbon edge & luscious malts but without a gentling hand to calm both down. Chocolate is almost lost but the oak is biting on the finish. Happy to get through a moderate sized bottle but that’ll be fine for today.

A good, solid, unremarkable barrel aged stout.

The first pour is jet black with a large, dark head with excellent retention and lacing. The nose is lovely. Opening rich and dark with licorice and anise to go with baker's chocolate. On top of that is vanilla, bourbon, a touch of coconut and that silky, spicy nocino, with fleshy walnut and bitter walnut oil. Cherry bark. A bunch of cinnamon and some allspice. Moderate roast.

The palate opens bittersweet, a lovely blend of cinnamon, roast, baker's chocolate, anise, a little licorice. This is followed by vanilla, bourbon, walnut and bitters. The finish is dry, roasty with cherry bark, bittersweet chocolate. The cinnamon really grows as it warms up. Rich, full bodied, bittersweet, this is fabulous. While a little boozy, it drinks nothing like a 13% beer. Fantasties.

From a can brewed 1/25/21. Amber color with two fingers of white fluffy head. Piney hop smell. Light body and very smooth feel. Caramel malt flavors at first followed by piney hops. A good IPA that's different from the prevailing citrus trend.

This was the best beer I’ve had in a long time, the can reads that you should drink from the can so I didn’t get the colour, however the can had a good look to it, so I rated that a three and a half. The smell was pure tangerines and mango, very good smell. The taste was crisp with piney mosaic hops following the fruity taste at the beginning. It does have a little bit of a bite on the aftertaste. Rather bitter finish.

Bought a single 12oz bottle $3.99 Village Bottle Shop
46 days old
Smell of grapefruit followed by Tequila
Murky brown-reddish color
Heavy-medium mouthfeel
Low carbonation
Taste of guava, passionfruit, li hing mui, some grapefruit but not too tart, a little salty, tequila comes in the aftertaste. Hides alcohol well.
Overall a good drink. Tastes more like a margarita then a beer, but has so much flavors coming through the more I sip it. Ratings at the time may be higher due to it being a change of pace from all the IPAs out there.

Transparent yellow with thin head.

Lemon minus the pucker. Spicy? Peppery? Eh, yeah but not a selling point. I wouldn't turn down more but I like what it's got.

Thin and dry, dead on what I wanted.

From the bottom of the can: "ENJOY BY 09/15/21 697 1215"

Appearance: The body of the beer is a very pale straw-yellow color. The body is very hazy, allowing only fuzzy shadows through. It has a short white head that is a bit fizzy with a light fluffiness, but it doesn't last long in the glass and it leaves no lacing.

Aroma: There is a very mild aroma of garlic. Nothing else comes through, and even the simple garlic-like scent is barely noticeable.

Taste: It is surprisingly fruity in contrast to the aroma. It tastes a lot like sweet tarts. It has a fruity flavor of cherry and mixed-berry up front. Towards the middle it fades back a bit but the tart fruit character persists. The back of the mouth has an artificial sweetener flavor. At times it tastes a bit like a Flinstones vitamin.

Mouthfeel: Thin and textureless. Carbonation feels fine.

Overall: It's a strange beer and I can't think of who this might be for. It has a slightly interesting sweet tart flavor but as a whole it is just not very good. At its worst it tastes like a watered down Flinstones vitamin. I wouldn't buy it again and it's not something I'd recommend.

THE DARK SIDEOF THE OSMONDS: FROM WHITE BREAD TO TOAST IN A FEW SHORT YEARS

Unlike the other mostly terrible TV movies (including the one about a living rock star’s dead wife), which beatifies them as Mother Theresa knock-offs who hardly drank, fought or did drugs, this one starts with a different premise: the hope that maybe this group actually did.

I’m here to report they didn’t.

According to this family-approved biopic, the Mormon clan stayed clean, sober and virginal-until-marriage throughout their whole long annoying singing careers.

So, why do I kinda like this movie?

For one thing, I like that the kids are terrified of their father-and the fact that they call him-“father.” It’s like The Von Trapp Family or something.

The father by the way is played by one of my favorite actors, Bruce McGill, who’s wonderful here too. And oh my God! Wait ’til you see his outfits.

The only thing better than the old man’s Sans-a-Belt slacks in this flick are the Osmond Brothers’ Elvis white-jumpsuits, and karate moves.

I also like that the mother, Veronica Cartwright, manages to look like Dixie Carter and like a plain Mormon lady at the same time.

True to their Mormon ways, the Osmonds, as you know, never indulged in drugs, sex or rock ‘n’ roll, although they would beg to differ on the last one. I myself find the first two hard to believe.

Anyway, the movie opens up with the Osmonds (Joel Berti, Ryan Kirkpatrick, Jason Knight, Miklos Perlus, Thomas Dekker as young Donny, and Patrick Levis as older Donny, Trever Blumas, Taylor Abrahmse), playing to a bunch of old fogies in their first club appearance.

When the boys decide to stop playing hymns and play some of that demon rock, the place clears out in a hurry. Luckily they launch back into “He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother,” (although if you’ve seen them lately, they might have to append those lyrics to “He’s Real Heavy, He’s My Brother”). And some of the old grouch’s come back in to listen.

After the set, the Osmonds go back to their dressing room and decide their careers are over, but an A&R guy from the big city who happens to have heard them play tells them they have what it takes to be rock stars.

Dad, er, Father doesn’t like the whole idea of this devil rock one little bit, and is horrified by what he considers its suggestive lyrics. (Father got over this pretty quick once the big bucks started rolling in, by the way.)

The boys who seem to live with their parents until they themselves are old enough to receive Social Security, sit around the dinner table every night in big-fringed vests, which I love.

I also love how they struggle with groupies who want to sleep with them before marriage. (They don’t.)

Things get weird when Donny’s voice starts to change, and sister Marie (young Marie is played by Taylin Wilson, older Marie is Janaya Stephens) steps in to help out.

From there it’s all downhill because they agree to sign on to do the humiliating “Donny & Marie Show” which they all swear, ruined their rock careers.

The Castles Have Survived Worse

Stately homes like Highclere and Belvoir have stood through some of the bloodiest events in history. In the First World War, Lady Carnarvon&rsquos predecessor, Lady Almina, opened up Highclere as a military hospital for wounded officers and she was head matron to 30 nurses. During WWII, the castle provided a home for dozens of evacuee children who were sent from the cities for their safety.

&ldquoI feel lucky to live in a home where my predecessors have done their best to serve in whatever way they can,&rdquo says Lady Carnarvon. &ldquoWorld Wars are entirely different circumstances. During WWII we were all called to do anything and everything to help, to dig for victory, to learn to fly, to physically work. Today we are helpless bystanders trying not to make anything worse."

Yes, it&rsquos a moment that feels very tough but maybe it&rsquos our time as a human race to grow some British stiff upper lip and overcome it.

Belvoir Castle too showed solidarity during the World Wars. During the Great War, the castle became a military hospital run by Violet the 8th Duchess of Rutland. &ldquoBelow the castle there is a beautiful Charles II building and that&rsquos where it was,&rdquo the Duchess notes. During the Second World War the castle also played its part in housing important government archives.

&ldquoWhen you live in a building like Belvoir, surrounded by the walls of history, that have come through civil wars and the agony of the First World War and the Second World War as well as many others before, you recognize that, yes, it&rsquos a moment in time that feels very tough but maybe it&rsquos our time as a human race to grow some British stiff upper lip and overcome it,&rdquo the Duchess adds.

Lady Carnarvon echoes the sentiment. &ldquoI feel we have to pull together and step forward in a dignified and strong way, whatever that might entail.&rdquo
